The time came to finally reflect on what I’ve learned at Amal academy, but this time it wasn’t about how much I learned so much as to reflect on how much I’ve changed.

The journey up till now has been a different experience, I met people from different parts of the country. The time I spent with these amazing people was something else. Late-night meetings to discuss the Project works, the Whatsapp chat groups to give and take feedback, and talking about our own journeys were life-changing. I learned how valuable other peoples’ feedback can be and how strangers can come to care about you in such ways.

I’ve always been the kind to underestimate myself and this one instance really stuck with me during my Amal journey. I was preparing Mega Project presentations and I wanted to do something different, I spent quite some time creating the presentations and after the final result, I decided to show the presentation to my Amal fellows. They were amazed at the result and appreciated my hard work so much, everybody applauded me for my hard work and that made me feel so good, it gave me a confidence boost and helped me learn to appreciate my work.

Among all the things, the friends I made during this journey is truly worthwhile. We met, we laughed, we helped each other grow and that is something I will treasure forever.
