The Journey to leadership.

So I’ve not been too keen on keeping a clean room, call it laziness or lethargy or serious case of procrastination. So here I was laying in this “Mess” of a room gobbling down mini Oreos (I love them!) while completing my Amal course Everyday Leadership...and as I kept going I started understanding the basic idea of leadership, as Mark Bezos so subtly put it “…Don’t wait to be a hero.” As I reached the project section I knew now it was about the little things, to care, to take responsibility, to do something about it and most of all, to start with yourself, your surroundings, your own room for that matter.

I realized the Lays wrapper had been there for quite some time.

So I took the responsibility and initiative and started the proverbial change. I started from the Vacuum cleaner and swept across the room, picking up wrappers vacuuming the room, sorting out the beds, the laptop chargers which lay there as if its Gul haji plaza, everything changed, everything sorted. I even found some old USBs and pens and many things which got ‘Lost’. This was the end result.

And this.

I went back to Bed to watch Fresh prince, and I felt proud, more relaxed and more comfy, the place looked aesthetic…maybe just to me….but then again I did all that :’). So to be honest, If Amal Academy and the Course had not pushed me, I would never have got up and owned up to cleaning, this made me realize the importance of starting now and the little things, that leadership starts with small beginnings and that leadership doesn’t require any authority, it all starts with you.
